How The Tories Will Go About Unleashing Britain's Potential
For as long as I've known how to spell 'flagrant misrepresentation' the Conservatives have been claiming either that they are uniquely good at running the economy or that Labour is uniquely bad at it. Constant repetition seems to have succeeded in making this a widely held belief despite no actual data ever being put forward. So it isn't surprising that this trope gets another airing.
How Are The Tories Going To Get Brexit Done?
Brexit is a big deal for the country, but it is an especially big deal for the Conservatives whose idea the whole thing was. So it isn't surprising its the first item on their manifesto. And their slogan is clear. They will get it done. This begs the question of what they want to get out of it and how they are going to achieve it.

Politics - don't bother with the small stuff
In October the Conservative Party had the edge on Labour in popular opinion, in case scoring a 24 point lead. Not last month, but 50 years ago. https://news.google.com/newspapers?id=IGxkAAAAIBAJ&sjid=63wNAAAAIBAJ&pg=1241,4966830&dq=opinion+poll+wilson&hl=en
It might well have seemed to Labour Party activists at the time that the world as they knew it was coming to an end and that the Conservatives were due to rule for ever.

Skim Reading the Conservative Party Manifesto
As I am not following the coverage of the election campaign I have no idea how well received the Conservative Party manifesto has been, or if any bits of it have blown up and threatened to sink their whole campaign. There is often some detail that derails a campaign's plans. But I haven't read the details yet, and judging by the overall effect I doubt I will find anything.

What We Were Sold
This summary of the aims of the leave camp during the campaign is worth revisiting. I'll be honest and say that not much of it appealed to me in the first place. But someone who regards that as a decent shopping list might well be getting uneasy. The first item looks safe enough. We are going to lose access to the European Court. So that is one less layer of protection, but is nonetheless what people were voting for.
Labour Manifesto - It May Not Win Votes But It Might Win The Argumnent
Reading the Labour Party manifesto was no trivial undertaking. It covers a lot of ground in 107 pages. It leaves you in no doubt about the kind of Britain that Labour wants to create. It is an appealing vision and it is a far reaching one. To reset the agenda for the country is no mean ambition. If Labour wins it could lead the country in a different direction from the one it is on and this document could be looked back on as heralding that change.
